The Directorate General Border Security Force has released the latest Notification for the recruitment of Head Constable Posts. The total number of vacancies for DGBSF Head Constable Recruitment 2025 is 1121. The DGBSF Head Constable Recruitment 2025 Notification has been released in 18 August and Online Application will be accepted from 24 August 2025 to 23 September 2025.

🔑 Eligibility Criteria: BSF Head Constable Recruitment

1. Nationality

• Must be an Indian citizen.

2. Age Limit (as on closing date)

• UR/EWS: 18-25 years
• OBC: 18-28 years
• SC/ST: 18-30 years
• Departmental (LDCE): UR/EWS-40 yrs, OBC-43 yrs, SC/ST-45 yrs

3. Educational Qualification

Head Constable (Radio Operator/Mechanic) [Direct & Departmental]

• Option 1: 10+2/Intermediate or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as regular student with aggregate 60% in PCM.
• Option 2: Matriculation or equivalent + 2 years ITI Certificate (approved trades: Radio & Television/Electronics/Computer Operator & Programming Assistant/Data Preparation & Computer Software/General Electronics Engineering/Data Entry Operator/Electrician/Fitter/Mechatronics/Network Technician/IT & Electronics System Maintenance/Communication Equipment Maintenance/Computer Hardware).

💪 Selection Process: BSF HC RO & RM Recruitment Process

Phase 1: PST & PET

• Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
• Male: 1.6 km run (6.5 min), Long Jump: 11 ft (3 chances), High Jump: 3.5 ft (3 chances)
• Female: 800m (4 min), Long Jump: 9 ft (3 chances), High Jump: 3 ft (3 chances)

Ex-Servicemen & LDCE departmental candidates are exempt from PST & PET.

Phase 2: Computer Based Test (CBT)

• 100 questions, 2 hrs, 200 marks (English/Hindi).
• Physics – 40 Q (80 marks)
• Math – 20 Q (40 marks)
• Chemistry – 20 Q (40 marks)
• English & GK – 20 Q (40 marks)
• Negative marking: 0.25 marks/incorrect answer

Phase 3: Document Verification, Dictation Test (for RO only), Medical Exam

• Dictation Test (HC RO only): English, min 150 words, 50 marks.
• Paragraph Reading (HC RO only): Qualifying only.
• Detailed/Review Medical Examination (DME/RME): As per Force standards.
• Note: Candidates must bring photo ID, e-Admit cards, and original & photocopies of all documents.

🏆 Final Selection and Merit List

• HC (RO): Combined marks of CBT (200) + Dictation Test (50); Paragraph Reading must be qualified.
• HC (RM): Marks in CBT only (200 marks).
• Category-wise separate merit list will be released online. No waiting list.

💶 Pay Scale and Allowances: BSF Head Constable

• Pay Matrix: Level 4 (₹25,500 – 81,100 as per 7th CPC)
• Other Benefits: DA, Ration Allowance, Dress Allowance, HRA/Free Accommodation, LTC, Transport Allowance, Free Uniform, Pension under NPS, Medical, and more.
• Annual Increment and Promotions: As per BSF/government rules.
