The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Central Railway has released a notification (No. RRC/CR/AA/2025) inviting online applications for the engagement of Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961. A total of 2418 apprenticeship slots are available across various workshops and units of Central Railway.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have passed 10th Class with ITI certificate to build a career in the Indian Railways.

·         Start Date of Online Application: 12 August 2025 (11:00 AM)

·         Closing Date of Online Application: 11 September 2025 (5:00 PM)

 

📌 Vacancy Details

·         Total Vacancies: 2418

·         Training Period: 1 Year

·         Stipend: As per Railway Board Rules (approx. ₹7000 per month for NCVT/SCVT certificate holders).

Vacancies are distributed across clusters such as Mumbai, Bhusawal, Pune, Nagpur, and Solapur, covering workshops and depots like Parel Workshop, Matunga Workshop, Kurduwadi Workshop, Kalyan Diesel Shed, Bhusawal Electric Loco Shed, Pune Diesel Loco Shed, Ajni Electric Loco Shed, and others.

 

📝 Eligibility Criteria

·         Age Limit (as on 12.08.2025):

o    Minimum: 15 years

o    Maximum: 24 years

o    Age relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwBD – 10 years, Ex-servicemen – as per rules.

·         Educational Qualification:

o    10th Class (Matriculation) or equivalent under 10+2 system with minimum 50% marks.

o    Must possess National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.

o    Note: Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible.

 

💰 Application Fee

·         General / OBC / EWS: ₹100/-

·         SC / ST / PwBD / Women: Exempted (No Fee)

·         Mode of Payment: Online (Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, UPI).

 

📖 Selection Process

·         Selection will be purely on merit basis.

·         Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in:

o    Matriculation (10th Class) – minimum 50%

o    ITI Marks in the relevant trade

·         The final merit list will be prepared cluster/unit-wise, trade-wise, and community-wise.

·         In case of a tie, preference will be given to candidates with older age, followed by the date of passing 10th exam.

·         Shortlisted candidates will undergo Document Verification and Medical Examination.
