GUJARAT PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (GPSC) Recruitment 2026  Educational Qualification and other details: 

(A)Possess a Master's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication/Mass Communication and Journalism/Development Communication/Communication Studies/Journalism/Mass Communication obtained from any of the Universities or institutions established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India; or any other Educational Institutions recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act.

The candidate possessing the requisite educational qualifications and other requirements for appointment, under the relevant recruitment rules of the post shall be eligible for admission to the examination:

(1) Provided that the candidate who has appeared at a degree examination, the passing of which would render them educationally qualified for the Preliminary Examination, but have not been informed of the result as also the candidate who intend to appear at such a qualifying examination shall also be eligible for admission to the Preliminary Examination. All the candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission for appearing in the Main Examination shall be required to produce a proof of passing the required examination along with their application submitted for the Main Examination failing which such candidates shall not be admitted to the Main Examination, and a candidate shall fulfil the minimum age criteria at the date mention by the Commission in advertisement.

(2) All candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission for appearing in the Main Examination (written) shall be required to produce proof of passing the degree examination along with their application for the Main Examination (written). A candidate who fails to produce the proof of passing the degree examination shall not be eligible for admission to the Main Examination (written)

(B) Possess the basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classfication and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967; and

(C) Possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

The selection will be based on a two-stage competitive examination:

1.   Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):

·         Paper-2: Journalism (200 Marks)

·         Total: 300 Marks | Duration: 3 Hours

2.   Main Examination (Descriptive Type) & Interview:

·         Gujarati Language: 150 Marks

·         English Language: 150 Marks

·         Journalism: 150 Marks

·         Total Written: 450 Marks

·         Personality Test (Interview): 50 Marks
