• Station Controller & Junior Engineers: 18 to 28 Years.
• Maintainers: 18 to 25 Years.
• Age Relaxation: SC, ST, SEBC, and EWS Male candidates of Gujarat origin get 5 years relaxation. Female candidates from these categories get 10 years relaxation. Women candidates of the Unreserved category get 5 years relaxation. Ex-servicemen relaxation is as per rules (Max age 45 years).

Payment of application fee (non-refundable):

1. Unreserved category (Male) , candidates are required to pay a Non- refundable fee of Rs.600/- (exclusive of bank charges plus service tax).

For the post of Station Controller cum Train Operator (SC/TO), the selection methodology will comprise three-stage process – Written Test, Psycho Aptitude Test followed by document verification & Medical examination in Aye-One (A-1) category. For the post of Jr. Engineers, the selection methodology will comprise two-stage process – Written Test followed by Document verification & Medical examination in Aye-one (A-1) category, not below Aye-Three (A-3) category. The details of medical standards are available at GMRCL’s website.

For the post of Maintainers, the selection methodology will comprise two-stage process – Written Test followed by Document verification & Medical examination in Bee-one (B-1) category. The details of medical standards are available at GMRCL’s website.

EXAMINATION PATTERN:

 i. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) type OMR based tests for all the posts will be held on one or more days. Question paper will be in English.

 ii. For Station Controller / Train Operator (SC / TO), & Junior Engineer : The test will consist of 120 questions (each carrying one mark): Technical Knowledge (40 questions), Gujarati language (20 questions), Logical ability & Reasoning (20 questions) and Quantitative aptitude (20 questions), General English (20 questions).

iii. For Maintainers (MNTR): The test will be of 100 questions Technical Knowledge (40 questions), Gujarati language (20 questions), Logical ability & Reasoning (15 questions), Quantitative aptitude (10 questions) and General English (15 questions).

iv. All questions are to be attempted compulsorily. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every unattempted question/for every wrong answer/for an instance of multiple answers against a question. If a candidate does not know the answer to a particular question, he/she may mark option E on the OMR sheet for that question. Marking Option E against a question will be treated as an attempt and will not invite a negative marking. v. Duration of the test will be 120 minutes (2 hours).

vi. Gujarati language test is only of qualifying nature. Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks in the Gujarati language test i.e. 60% for General category and 50% for reserved categories (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS), to be considered for selection. However, the marks obtained in Gujarati language test will not be included for the calculation of the cutoff score.
