vacancies have been announced through the ISRO URSC Scientist/Engineer &
Medical Officer Recruitment 2026.

Nationality: The
applicant must be a citizen of India to be eligible for ISRO URSC

Age Limit (as on 12.04.2026): For Scientist/Engineer
‘SC’, the maximum age limit is 28 years, while for Scientist/Engineer
‘SD’ and Medical Officer ‘SC’,
the upper age limit is 35 years, with

Educational Qualification –
Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’: Candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech
or equivalent degree in Industrial Production, Industrial
Engineering, Industrial Management, Industrial Engineering & Management,
Production Engineering or allied branches with a minimum of 65%
aggregate marks (average of all semesters) or at least 6.84
CGPA on a 10‑point scale from a recognized university or
institution.
Educational Qualification –
Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’: Applicants should have a Ph.D.
in Thin Films, Material Science, Applied Optics or Metallurgy along
with mandatory pre‑eligibility qualifications such as M.Sc. in Physics/Material
Science or M.Tech in Material Science/Metallurgical Engineering/Applied Optics,
and B.E./B.Tech in relevant physical streams/Metallurgical Engineering/Material
Science or B.Sc in Physics/Chemistry/Material Science, with at least 60%
marks or 6.5 CGPA at the M.Sc./M.Tech and B.Sc levels and
prescribed minimum marks/CGPA in B.E./B.Tech as per the notification.
Educational Qualification –
Medical Officer ‘SC’: Candidates must have an MBBS
degree with compulsory rotatory internship, passed with at
least second class, recognized by the National Medical Commission (previously
Medical Council of India), along with 2 years of post‑registration
experience in clinical practice and a valid registration
with the National Medical Commission or State Medical Council.
Minimum Marks & Course
Duration: The essential qualifications at graduation and post‑graduation
level must be completed within the stipulated duration of the course as
prescribed by the university, and where both percentage and CGPA are mentioned,
at least one of them must meet the minimum marks criteria prescribed for ISRO
URSC Scientist Engineer Recruitment 2026.
Medical Fitness & Other
Conditions: Selected candidates must be medically fit as per ISRO
norms and should satisfy all other conditions mentioned in the URSC Scientist

Scientist Engineer Salary 2026
Candidates
appointed through the ISRO URSC Scientist Engineer
Recruitment 2026 will receive salary as per the 7th CPC
Pay Matrix along with admissible allowances and other benefits applicable to
Central Government employees.
Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ Salary: Selected
Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ at URSC will be placed in Pay
Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500) with an initial basic pay
of Rs.
56,100 per month plus Dearness Allowance, House Rent
Allowance/leased accommodation, Transport benefits and other ISRO‑specific
perks.
Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ Salary: Scientist/Engineer
‘SD’ will be appointed in Pay Level 11 (Rs. 67,100 – 2,08,700) with
an approximate starting basic pay of Rs. 67,700 per month plus
admissible allowances as per Government of India rules.
Medical Officer ‘SC’ Salary: Medical
Officer ‘SC’ will also be in Pay Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500) with
basic pay of Rs. 56,100 per month along
with allowances and an additional Non‑Practicing Allowance (NPA) @ 20%
of basic pay as per medical cadre norms.
Other Benefits: ISRO
URSC employees are covered under National Pension System/Unified Pension Scheme
and are eligible for benefits like LTC, Group Insurance, medical facilities for
self and dependents, subsidised canteen, transport facility/transport allowance

Applicants
for ISRO
URSC Scientist Engineer Recruitment 2026 (Post Codes 01
& 03) are required to pay a partially refundable processing fee as
specified in the advertisement.
Processing Fee: All
candidates applying for Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ (Post
Code 01) and Medical Officer ‘SC’ (Post
Code 03) must initially pay Rs. 750/- per
application as processing fee through the prescribed online payment gateway.
Application Fee Component: Out
of the above amount, Rs. 250/- is
treated as non‑refundable application fee for these posts, and the remaining
portion of the processing fee is eligible for refund as per the category‑wise
conditions mentioned in the notification.
Refund Rules: Women
candidates, SC/ST candidates, PwBD and Ex‑servicemen who appear in the written
test/interview are generally eligible for full refund of Rs. 750/-,
while other candidates who appear in the written test/interview are eligible
for partial
refund (typically Rs. 500/-), subject to validity of their
application and actual attendance.
No Fee for Scientist/Engineer
‘SD’: For Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ (Post
Code 02), there is normally no application fee;

The ISRO
URSC Scientist Engineer Recruitment 2026 selection process
differs slightly for each post, combining written examination, shortlisting and
interview as per the post code.
Selection – Scientist/Engineer
‘SC’ (Post Code 01): Eligible applications are first
screened based on academic performance and other criteria; shortlisted
candidates are called for a Written Test at Bengaluru,
and those who qualify in the written test will be further shortlisted for a personal
interview, with final merit prepared on overall performance.
Selection – Scientist/Engineer
‘SD’ (Post Code 02): Candidates register on the ISRO
Live Register portal; an initial screening is carried out using
qualifications, research profile and other parameters, and shortlisted
candidates are called directly for interview, where the final
selection is made based on interview performance.
Selection – Medical Officer
‘SC’ (Post Code 03): For Medical Officer posts,
applications are screened on the basis of MBBS qualification, registration and
experience; shortlisted candidates are invited for interview,
and selection is made purely on the basis of interview and verification of
credentials.
Document Verification &
Medical Fitness: At the time of interview/joining, candidates must produce
