The Space Applications Centre (SAC), a premier centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under the Department of Space, Government of India, has released an official recruitment notice inviting applications for Apprenticeship Training 2026. Candidates holding a Degree, Diploma, or ITI qualification in relevant disciplines can walk in directly at SAC's Ahmedabad campus between 20 June and 3 July 2026. This is a one-year training opportunity registered under the Apprentices Act, 1961 - one of the most prestigious apprenticeship programs available to science and engineering graduates in India.

SAC ISRO Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Post Codes and Disciplines

SAC has notified 16 post codes covering three categories of apprentices. Each category has distinct educational requirements and eligible disciplines.

Graduate Apprentice (Post Codes 01–05)

Graduate Apprentices must hold a B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. / B.Com / B.Lib or an equivalent qualification from a Government-recognized University, Board, or Institute with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.

SAC ISRO Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should carefully read all eligibility conditions before appearing for the walk-in. Appearing without meeting these conditions will result in disqualification.

Nationality

Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for SAC ISRO Apprentice 2026.

State-Wise Eligibility Condition

This is one of the most important eligibility filters and is frequently misunderstood by applicants.

  • Graduate and Technician Apprentices (Post Codes 01–08): Candidates must have obtained their Degree or Diploma from a Government-recognized University/Board/Institute located in any of the following states/UTs:
    • Maharashtra
    • Gujarat
    • Goa
    • Chhattisgarh
    • Madhya Pradesh
    • Rajasthan
    • Dadra Nagar Haveli & Daman & Diu (UT)
  • Trade Apprentices (Post Codes 09–16): Candidates must have completed their ITI (NTC/STC) from a recognized institute in Gujarat State only.

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate Apprentice: Minimum 60% aggregate in B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Com/B.Lib or equivalent.
  • Technician Apprentice: First Class in Diploma in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline.
  • Trade Apprentice: SSC/10th pass + ITI (NTC/STC) in the relevant trade.

Age Relaxation:

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation in upper age
  • SC / ST candidates: 5 years relaxation in upper age
  • PwBD candidates: As per Government of India rules

Year of Passing Condition

Candidates who passed their Degree/Diploma/ITI in or after July 2023 are eligible. Candidates who have completed three or more years since obtaining their qualifying degree as on the expected date of joining are not eligible, even if they passed after July 2023.

Prior Apprenticeship or Work Experience

Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing any apprenticeship training, or who have one year or more of job experience as on the date of joining, are not eligible.

SAC ISRO Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Stipend

The monthly stipend offered to selected apprentices is fixed by the Government and varies by apprentice category.

The training period is 12 months from the date of execution of the Apprenticeship contract.

SAC ISRO Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Walk-In Schedule and Venue

Unlike most central government recruitment processes, this apprenticeship follows a walk-in, first-come-first-serve model. No online application or postal submission is accepted.

  • Walk-In Dates: 20 June 2026 to 03 July 2026
  • Days: All working days (Saturdays, Sundays, and declared holidays excluded)
  • Walk-In Timing: 10:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs
  • Venue: Building No. 30-D (Recruitment Section), Space Applications Centre, ISRO, Jodhpur Tekra, Ahmedabad – 380015

Important: On arrival at SAC, candidates must enter their details in the attendance sheet to confirm their order of appearance. This is mandatory.

How to Apply

The application process is entirely offline and in-person. There is no provision for online, email, or postal submission of applications.

1.   Download and fill the official application form attached to the SAC notification (available on the official ISRO/SAC website).

2.   Register on the appropriate apprenticeship portal (NATS or Apprenticeship India) before appearing for the walk-in.

3.   Gather all required documents in self-attested photocopies along with originals.

4.   Visit Building No. 30-D, Space Applications Centre, ISRO, Jodhpur Tekra, Ahmedabad – 380015, on any working day between 20 June and 3 July 2026 during 10:00–13:00 hrs.

5.   Enter your name in the attendance sheet on arrival - this is mandatory to confirm your order in the first-come-first-serve queue.

6.   Submit your application personally at the Recruitment Section.

Applications submitted by post or email will not be considered under any circumstances.

Selection Process

There is no written examination or interview for this apprenticeship. Selection is done purely on a first-come-first-serve basis, subject to verification of documents and eligibility.

  • Candidates appearing earlier in the walk-in period have a higher chance of selection, given limited seats.
  • If any discrepancy is found in name, age, qualification results, year of passing, or caste/tribe details at any stage, the candidature will be immediately disqualified.
  • Candidates who do not meet medical fitness criteria at the time of joining will have their candidature cancelled automatically.

Important Terms and Conditions

Understanding these conditions is critical before appearing for the walk-in, as violations at any stage lead to disqualification.

  • Apprentices will have no claim for regular employment at SAC-ISRO, any other ISRO Centre, or under the Department of Space after completion of training.
  • The apprenticeship contract is registered under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Amendment Act, 1973.
  • Candidates in existing Government service must disclose this in their application.
  • Seats are limited; early walk-in increases your chance of selection.
  • All decisions regarding eligibility, selection, and joining rest with SAC-ISRO administration.
