Recruitment 2026 (Advt 07) – Selection Process
The
selection process for UPSC Advertisement No. 07/2026 varies by post. For most
posts, it consists of shortlisting based on the online application, followed by
a Recruitment Test (RT) or Combined Recruitment Test (CRT) if warranted, and
then a Personality Test (Interview). Candidates will be shortlisted for
interview based on the information provided in their online application and
their performance in the RT, if held.

centres: Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Jaipur, Jammu,
Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port Blair, Ranchi, and Visakhapatnam.

Personality
Test / Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for
interview. Candidates must bring the printout of their online application and
all original/self-attested copies of supporting documents.
5.
Final
Selection and Appointment: Appointment orders are
issued by the respective Ministry/Department. UPSC may grant higher initial pay
to candidates adjudged meritorious at the interview stage.

07/2026 – Salary & Pay Scale (7th CPC Pay Matrix)
Selected
candidates will receive pay as per the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
The pay level ranges from Level-7 for posts such as Company Prosecutor and
Photographic Officer to Level-11 (with NPA) for medical Specialist Grade III
posts. In addition to basic pay, candidates are entitled to Dearness Allowance,
HRA, and other admissible allowances as per Central Government rules.
